I am April D. Langschied ( owner of A Brewster Smythe Concepts)

On August 21, 2007 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On October 24, 2007, I underwent a crainiotomy and six hours later my family was told that the tumor had been the size of a baseball, but was benign and Dr. Rudy Kachmann, my neurosurgeon felt he had gotten it all.
In the following several months of recuperation, I had time to reflect. Of course, my life would never be the same. Not because I had any after effects. I have been filled with grace, because lasting damage has been minimal. No, my life wiil never be the same because I realized in the months following the surgery that life is finite. We all know it, don't we, we just never really believe it till it comes home to us.
During this reflective period it also came clear to me how finite the resources of our planet are, and how much needs to be done.
I have made a vow to myself and quietly to my grandchildren to do whatever I can to bring together my local community of Waynedale in a unique effort to bring greener living into our lives and to enhance the lives of those yet to come.
As a writer, my words are my gift to them, and to you.
Please come along with me as we help Waynedale 'go green'! It's for the good of everyone.
We will lift environmental awareness in order to enjoy the true economic advantages that are inherent in 'going green'!
